All Vendors – Important Update 1/17/17

All Vendors

All product images must be exactly 500 pixels high by 500 pixels wide.  No exceptions.  If your images keep disappearing, this is probably why.

If history repeats itself, the rest of January is going to be crazy.  Please be sure to proofread your listings before you hit publish.  Please also be sure to make sure you’ve set your inventory and price correctly.

I’m going to keep this short and sweet, so trust me… I’m not trying to penalize anyone.  We’re really focusing on SEO this quarter.  While all of the following might seem arbitrary and ridiculous, keep this in mind:  We’ve already added 1,279 new customers this month!  I’m just giving you the “do’s and don’ts” right now.  I’ll fill you in on the “Why” and tell you all about the Secret Sauce later this week 🙂

Whole Insert Sellers

Product Description

Please include a list of all of the coupons included inside your inserts in your Product Description.  This is mandatory.  Listings without this information will be put into Draft until you fix them.

Please physically check your inserts to make sure of the coupons inside.  Do not just copy and paste a list you find on the Internet.

Product Categories

Please use both of the appropriate categories for your whole inserts.  For example, the 1/22 Smartsource whole inserts should be listed under “1/22 Smartsource Whole Coupon Inserts” and “Whole Inserts.”  The 1/22 Redplum whole inserts should be listed under “1/22 Redplum Whole Coupon Inserts” and “Whole Inserts.”  The February P&G inserts should be listed under “February P&G Whole Coupon Inserts” and “Whole Inserts.”

Failure to use both categories will limit your visibility on the site.  (More on this later.)

Product Tags

You should not be using any Tags at all on your whole insert listings.

Listing Titles

All listings for whole inserts must begin with the words “Whole Inserts.” This is mandatory.  Listings without this information will be put into Draft until you fix them.

Again, I’m trying to keep this short and sweet, so trust me… I’m not trying to penalize anyone.  We’re really focusing on SEO this quarter.  While all of this might seem arbitrary and ridiculous, keep this in mind:  We’ve already added 1,279 new customers this month!  I’m just giving you the “do’s and don’ts” right now.  I’ll fill you in on the “Why” later this week 🙂

Clipped Coupon Sellers

Product Description

Please make sure to include all coupon limitations in your product descriptions – not in the title.  We need to keep titles short so they show up in the search engines but we also need to make sure the customer knows all the details about that coupon.

Product Categories

Please be sure to use both of the appropriate categories for your clipped coupons.  For example, clipped coupons from the 1/22 Smartsource should be listed under “1/22 Smartsource Clipped Coupons” and “Smartsource Clipped Coupons.”  Clipped coupons from the 1/22 Redplum should be listed under “1/22 Redplum Clipped Coupons” and “Redplum Clipped Coupons.”  Clipped coupons from the January P&G should be listed under “January P&G Clipped Coupons” and “P&G Clipped Coupons.”

Failure to use both categories will limit your visibility on the site.  (More on this later.)

Product Tags

Please be sure to use the following new tags when appropriate:  $1-off, $1.50-off, $2-off, $2.50-off, $3-off, $4-off, $5-off, and $10-off.  These are the ONLY dollar-related tags allowed on the site right now.   If you waste your time typing in any other dollar value it will just be deleted in the morning.

You are welcome to use as many of the appropriate tags as you’d like.  The ‘Appropriate’ tags can be found at the bottom of the Homepage, or in the sidebar on the Shop pages, under the Aisle by Aisle title.  These are the only tags allowed on the site right now.  If you waste your time typing in any other tag it will just be deleted in the morning.

Listing Titles

Please make sure you are following our Listing Policy on the Vendor Terms and Conditions page.  I know exactly which three vendors are ignoring this policy and beginning 1/22/17 I’m going to start charging you guys for the time I have to spend fixing your listings.

Please STOP doing this –> $0.50 or $0.75 or $0.40, etc.  The correct format for our site is to omit the zero after the dollar sign.  Do THIS–>  $.50 or $.75 or $.40.

Please STOP doing this –>  $1.00/1 or $2.00/1 or $4.00/2, etc.  The correct format for our site is to omit the zeroes after the decimal point.  Do THIS –> $1/1 or $2/1 or $4/2, etc.

And, once again, I’m trying to keep this short and sweet, so trust me… I’m not trying to penalize anyone.  We’re really focusing on SEO this quarter.  While all of this might seem arbitrary and ridiculous, keep this in mind:  We’ve already added 1,279 new customers just since Jan 1!  I’m just giving you the “do’s and don’ts” right now.  I’ll fill you in on the “Why” later this week 🙂
